AiM Smartycam GP HD Rev 2.2 Bullet Camera
The AiM SmartyCam GP HD 2.2 has been engineered to provide great videos and overlay all the technical data you want to see to help improve your performance while racing. The SmartyCam GP HD is used worldwide, giving racers and track day drivers fantastic high definition, high frame rate videos with all the data overlayed to help improve your performance. It’s easy to install, robust, reliable and can withstand the extreme working conditions expected by the track.
The SmartyCam GP HD 2.2 has a wide TFT colour display. Intelligent settings allow the camera to automatically start/stop recording by using the inbuilt 3 axis accelerometer, so you can concentrate on the track and not the camera, and immediate playback helps with setting up.
The Bullet is robust and lightweight making it easy to install to the inside or outside of your car. The connection cable from the recorder box to the bullet has been engineered to be strong and ensure connections are constantly connected through vibrations and more protected by Electromatic noise. We have a wide range of brackets available to suit your requirements.
Direct CAN Connection
The SmartyCam GP HD has been designed to integrate the direct connection to the CAN-bus line of the ECU and it will allow using the can-bus communication protocols included in our official database or manage the customized can-bus protocols.
This feature has been designed particularly for vehicles like Formula cars where the available space to fit things in is minimum.
Integrated CAN bus Hub
The SmartyCam GP HD has four connectors, one completely dedicated to the bullet cam, one for the ECU-MIC, one for the GPS Module connection and EXP to connect with AiM das/logger.
SmartyCam GP HD (Rev 2.2) automatically overlays on your video all of the data you need: speed, RPM, lap number, gear shifts and much more. Simply choose the data and graphical layout you prefer from the many different overlays available. Data can be read from all possible sources. From GPS: track map and vehicle position as well as speed, lap and split times. From AIM logger/dash logger connected to your ECU: RPM, throttle, engaged gear, acceleration, temperatures, pressures etc. From sensors connected to your AIM logger/dash logger.
CMOS Sensor & Lens
SmartyCam GP HD 2.2 has been designed to avoid the problem of image distortion with the global shutter CMOS sensor. The camera shutter captures the entire image at the same time, the result is the images are captured at once and are not affected by the vibrations that happen while driving your car on the track or road which create the so-called wave effect.
The SmartyCam GP HD 2.2 is available with a choice of three lens options:
The narrow 67° HFOV lens, wide 84° HFOV lens, wide 120° HFOV lens.
Designed for extreme conditions
The SmartyCam GP HD has been designed to last and work under the pressure of extreme motorsport conditions such as poor weather, strong and prolonged vibrations, continuous rain and extreme high and low temperatures. The SmartyCam HD is made in machinery moulded aluminium.
When you’re at the starting grid the last thing you want to be doing is fumbling around with your camera. The SmartyCam HD has been designed with this in mind and switches on/off automatically and starts/stops recording in the same way.
The SmartyCam HD can be switched on by the logger it is connected to. Switch-off is automatic too, you decide after what period of non-activity the camera will switch off.
Recording can also be started/stopped automatically or via the keyboard. With an automatic switch-on, the camera will start recording when the speed or RPM threshold is exceeded. In this case, you can simply decide how long after dropping below the selected threshold the video will automatically stop.
Higher Storage Capacity
Using a compression system that has been optimised to provide the perfect balance between video quality and file size. Video is stored on an SD card and you can select 3 different recording quality options: High quality, 1 hour = 4GB, Standard quality – 1 hour = 2GB, Low quality – 1 hour = 1.5GB. This means that with a 128GB SD card you can store over 32 hours of footage.
The USB port and SD card housing are 100% protected from air and weathering.
